Capping In-Line Rifles

Insert the Capstar into breech. Push forward to place cap on nipple. Remove Capstar with a simple downward motion at right angle to nipple/breech. Seat cap firmly before hunting or firing. Do not leave caps in Capstar for long term storage. Store caps in their original container.

A Word about Musket Caps

Virtually all percussion rifles will benefit in terms of more reliable ignition with the musket caps. Flame temperature is more than 20 percent hotter. Gas volume generated is nearly double that of standard #11 caps.

Custom fitting your Capstar

You may have to trim to fit your rifle sight combination. We recommend you use nippers or side cutters for trimming. If you choose to use a knife, be very careful. You could slip and inflict a serious cut. Be sure that your gun is unloaded when fitting Capstar. Trim gradually to obtain proper fit. Do not attempt to trim one cut. Make several cuts. For most in-lines you will have to choose between musket caps and #11 caps. Trim off the side you will not use.
